On our way! We arrived at the airport at 5:45am and are waiting to board the plane to New Orleans. The weather is supposed to be 95 degrees (but will feel like 105) with 75% humidity -a little different from Boston weather! We have 12 people in our group from St. Stephen’s Boston and Church of the Redeemer in Chestnutt Hill.
“I am excited to go on the trip because it will be a new experience” -Jeimy, 17
“I’m excited because we will get to help and do something good” Catie, 19
“it’s something new and it’s good to help the community” – Fito, 17
“i’ve never been to New Orleans or on a mission trip, and I can’t wait to work. I’m sitting in this air conditioned airport saying “i can’t wait” then I’ll get off at the other end and it will be a thousand degrees!” - Judy
Jeimy, Bobby, Fito, Catie, Kathryn, Judy and Marc -our first day in New Orleans!

Day 2: July 23, 2010 First Day of Work
After breakfast, we split into two groups : one went to work at the Cathedral’s Summer Day Camp, and the other to Animal Rescue New Orleans.

Thank you St. Stephens’ group for coming and working with us at our shelter! We loved having all of you, and hope you come back.
This weekend, July 4th weekend, two of the lead ARNOs are making a trip to Boston… ARL of Boston is taking one of our wonderful dogs, Grateful, into their arms to adopt her out in your area.
We are so grateful to the young people of Boston… for over three years many groups have come to volunteer and help us… and we thank God every day for that assistance.
I hope all that volunteered will stay with ARNO via email and facebook!
Become a friend of “ARNO Shelter” and Animal Rescue New Orleans too!
Animal Rescue New Orleans is also a Cause on Facebook:
